As a bilingual (English and Spanish), First-Generation, Latino/Mexican, Gay, Male, I have been able to learn through hardships on my own and motivate others to work hard to achieve their goals. I motivate and help individuals pursue and work to achieve personal goals that will positively impact them. It is important to be culturally competent in my own work and learn what goes on around our communities. Sometimes it is difficult to unwind and destress without navigating how to do so. Therapy is an important aspect for individuals to have some support in any need they have been struggling with and have guidance. You'll learn skills to cope, feel better, and get help with the problem you're having.
I graduated with my Master of Social Work in May 2023 from the Metropolitan State University of Denver. I am a Clinical Social Work Candidate, Addictions Counselor Candidate, Domestic Violence Trainee, Rainbow and Educator Advocate. Prior to obtaining my master's, I worked in Mental Health for over 3 years. I have extensive experience working with the Latinx community, minorities, juveniles, and domestic violence offenders and victims. I enjoy working with young adults, first-generation, college students, people of color, and the LGBTQIA+ community. I have experience working with individuals who have anxiety, depression, trauma, intergenerational issues, and interpersonal issues among many others. I like helping clients navigate and understand their emotions. I have an outgoing, kind, and understanding personality which I use to connect with clients. I use a person-centered and solution-focused approach to help clients find their own strengths, create solid goals, build concrete relationships, and work to create a positive individual.
